This article focuses on converting Remington and Mossberg shotguns to the Seismic Shooting System. I’ll cover the various models to help you choose which shotgun would work best for you, or, if you already have a shotgun, to explain what’s involved.

Most conversions will fall into 1 of 4 categories.
1.       Full stock shotguns, for hunting, general purpose, and tactical.
2.        Manufactured traditional pistol grip shotguns with 18” barrels
3.       Mossberg Shockwave with 18” barrel
4.       Remington Tac 14 and Mossberg Shockwave with 14” barrel

Seismic Shotgun Advice, Precautions, and Pistol Grips

The Seismic Shooting System and method give you a safe, controlled, and comfortable shooting experience. However, this is not something you jump into without recognizing that it is an entirely new way to shoot a shotgun. To do it safely and become proficient, you need to understand how the system works and how you interface with the shotgun.

It was early in 2010, when my only shotgun was a 40-year-old Mossberg 500 I had owned for 30 of those years. I shot it only a few times. I really wasn't a shotgun guy. But on this day, I dug it out of the closet because I was going to the skeet range to shoot clays with my brother. That day confirmed why the shotgun stayed in my closet. Granted, the gun didn't fit me, and I had no training, but after 100 rounds of shoulder-pounding, I was done. Never again.
